Where do you grease a Craftsman riding lawn mower?
There should be 4 grease zerks on the tractor. One on the back side of each front wheel and then one on each side where the steering spindle goes through the axle. You can use multi-purpose lithium grease for wheels and axle on this machine.
Where do you grease a riding lawn mower?
Locate the grease nipple on the inside of the right wheel. Place the end of the grease gun over the nipple. Pump the handle until there is pressure in the handle of the grease gun. Remove the end of the grease gun from the nipple.
How often should I grease my lawn mower?
The spindles and caster wheels are generally the most often greased. The spindles and castor wheels should be done around once a month because of the moving interior parts. Commercial mowers that put hundreds of hours on their Ferris mower would be looking at greasing the mower everyday depending on usage.
How do you lubricate a Craftsman riding lawn mower?
Simply stick the end of the grease gun onto the grease fittings and pump the grease gun by hand until grease extrudes from the area being lubricated. Grease fitting locations include the pulley and spindle bearings on the mower deck, the front wheel axles and the steering column.

Do new mower spindles need grease?
They do not come packed from the factory, that is a common misconception. When I worked for a Deere dealer it was not uncommon to have to change all the spindles, idler pulleys, and deck belt at ~150 hours. On a three blade deck it would often take an entire tube of grease to fill the new spindles.
How much grease do you put in a grease fitting?
Just enough and no more. I usually would put in just a shot or two. If it has a rubber boot, like a ball joint or steering joint, I’d pump in the grease untill the boot expanded just slightly. This way I know I’ve added grease to the joint.
