How do you remove a hubcap from a lawn tractor wheel?
Insert a small flat-head screwdriver under the hubcap where it seats on the wheel rim. Slightly turn the screwdriver to start prying off the hubcap.
How do you remove the wheels on a Murray lawn mower?
Place a pair of slip joint pliers over the hubcap on the back wheel you want to remove. Grasp the hubcap tightly, but not tight enough to dent it. Wiggle the pliers left and right while pulling outward to remove the hubcap. Some models of Murray riding mowers do not have hubcaps on the axle.
How do you take the cap off a lawn mower tire?
The rubber axle cover pushes on and pulls off. It pushes over the washer so it could be difficult to remove if the tractor has been sitting in a cold ambient environment. If you have a hair dryer, warming up the cap will help make it more pliable and easier to pull the axle cap off.
How do you take the axle cover off a Craftsman lawn tractor?
Pull the axle cover off a wheel with adjustable pliers. Slide the washer and retaining ring off the axle. Grasp the square key behind the wheel on the axle with needle-nose pliers and pull it straight up to remove it.
How do you take the rear wheel off a MTD riding lawn mower?
Strike the head of the axle bolt with a hammer three times to knock away some of the rust adhering the axle to the rim. Remove the center bolt completely with the socket wrench. Grab the tire on two sides and pull it straight off the axle.
How do you jack up a riding lawn mower?
Center the floor jack with the front or rear of the riding mower tractor. Roll the floor jack directly underneath the front or rear axle. Twist the floor jack handle clockwise to tighten the hydraulic valve, allowing the floor jack to be raised.
