The correct procedure is to simply turn the IDLE MIXTURE screw in until the engine stumbles (too rich) then back out until the engine runs good. When you do that the idle will usually be a little higher. Turn the IDLE SPEED screw out a bit more, then readjust the IDLE MIXTURE screw again.
